Old-Fashioned Hard Candy – Honey & Ginger

A recipe that gently warms you… like rediscovering a childhood memory.

I wanted to create a candy that combines the natural sweetness of honey with the comforting warmth of ginger. The result is a flavour that is delicate, soothing, and subtly spicy, with a beautiful balance that makes it unique.

Honey brings a smooth, authentic sweetness, while ginger adds a bright touch that awakens the palate without overpowering the experience.

I especially love this recipe because it celebrates simple ingredients deeply connected to artisanal craftsmanship. The honey comes from a local beekeeper through a short supply chain, giving each candy even more meaning: a treat made here, with ingredients that tell a local story.

It naturally appeals to customers looking for authentic, local products that stand apart from industrial confectionery.

Handcrafted in our chocolate factory in Québec using natural flavours and naturally sourced colours, this candy offers a local alternative to imported confectionery. It is available in two complementary formats: our elegant metal tin, perfect as a gift, souvenir, or collectible item, and our larger transparent pouch, ideal for refilling candy jars or replenishing the tin at home.

Together, these two formats answer different purchasing occasions: the tin becomes an attractive gourmet gift, while the pouch allows customers to easily return to their favourite flavour and share the experience. When ordered by the case, our tins come in ready-to-display integrated countertop displays that highlight the collection beautifully.

At Chocolat Boréal, we believe a generous assortment does more than enhance your offering: it reassures your customers, builds purchasing habits, and supports the continuity of your sales. That’s why we encourage you to reorder before running out, so every purchase already creates the desire for your customer to come back for the next one.

Every day this flavour is missing from your assortment is an opportunity for sales and customer loyalty that you are leaving to a competitor. Order now.
